Trust within, Trust without,

Clear away worry and cares,

Allow Peace,

Perfect.

The answer you seek is inside,

Trust you are worthy,

Let yourself shine,

Strength.

Show the way,

Begin anew, Trust You,

Love.

Guide Me,

Trust Love.

Now.

In praise of Hope

There is a solution to everything, if only we can open our eyes, open our mind to see solutions not problems. The answer is as close or as far away as we can conceive it to be. It takes a change of mind, a change of heart to acknowledge that it exists. Once we start to accept that a solution is possible, the results start to show up in our lives.

“Hope makes the impossible possible.” Lorna Byrne 2012.

When we ask for help from whomever for whatever reason, we can be guided to working through our difficulties but we must ask, be prepared to accept the help, and then act.

“No power in society, no hardship in your condition can depress you; keep you down in knowledge, power, virtue, influence, but by your own consent.” William Ellery Channing.

If the action doesn’t occur, the opportunity for change can pass you by.

Do you recall the Lion in the Wizard of Oz?
He set out searching for Courage and in the end discovered that he had all he needed inside himself all along! What difference would it make to you today to know that you already are and have all you need in order to achieve everything you want in your life?

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” Anais Nin Diary 1969.

So no matter how difficult things are or seem to be, take courage in the fact that with Hope in side, you will find your way to a solution.

“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without words, and never stops at all. Emily Dickinson “Hope is a thing with feathers.”

In the good times and in the challenging times of our today’s and our tomorrows, remember your inner strength that whispers, keep going, keep going......

I leave you this week with a wonderful evocative simile from Elizabeth Kubler-Ross that sums up my blog for today.

“People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out but when the darkness sets in their beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.”

If you have some quotes on the topic of Hope and Courage please post in the comments box below and if you would like to respond to this post, I’d love to hear from you. You can also catch up with me on Facebook – see connect with Mary Jo in the right-hand panel opposite.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

The lyrics of “Love is in the air” by John Paul Young, instantly recall the summer of ’81.  I’m freely cycling in sunshine, my field of dreams shimmers with ambition and dreams. At 16, everything is possible.

“Love is in the air every sight and every sound,
And I don't know if I'm being foolish;
don't know if I'm being wise but it's something that I must believe in........”

Often this song is a personal reminder to stop peddling so furiously. At 16 I knew when going too fast you must pull harder on the brakes.

Have I forgotten a childhood instinct?

Being honest with myself and willing to look at things another way is possibly a good but difficult place to start. An image of the child screen character of Shirley Temple comes to mind. When she fell or was hurt or upset, she picked herself up, checked that she was ok, dusted herself down, had a good cry and got on with doing what needed to be done, this is generally what kids do, and if there is somebody around whom they can ask for help, they ask! Can I learn anything from this?

" I have placed my head and my heart on the sill of the door of my love. Step gently, child!" Turkoman love song

St. Valentine’s Day is on Tuesday. It is a special time to remember all of the people and memories you love and that have shared a place in your heart. Personally, this song touches my heart in a special way as it reawakens the power of love in all of its forms and as I recall that moment in’81 when I knew then as I know now that someone very special loves me and has lovingly created all of it for me- I felt special.  At 16 I accepted this love without question.

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;
what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Take time this week to get in touch with people who are special to you, be good to yourself and tell those special people how much they mean to you.

" Your words are necessary to me as the sunlight and air...
Your words are my food,
your breath my wine-you are everything to me."
Sarah Bernhardt

I’d love to hear what is your special/inspirational love song, film, book etc, leave a comment or thought in the box below.

Enjoy your special St Valentine’s Day,

Mary Jo xx

Born to be Alive

"Everyman dies.  Not everyman really lives." William Wallace

Desperately seeking inspiration for this week's blog my eyes eventually rested on the beautiful frosty view outside my window where Mother Nature is unceasingly creative and productive.

How fortunate for her!  she has it all worked out, pre-programmed with perfect synchronicity.  I sit in admiration of how Spring blows upon us freshness and light, purifying and renewing all after the long dark of the Winter.  I lament that I'm not pre-programmed to spring into action!

My life, house, office, car all need de-cluttering, a fancy phrase that really means that piles of papers, rubbish, old clothes, boxes with unknown contents are stashed in cupboards, under beds, things that are filed away under the misguided heading of 'I'll deal with this later!', clog up drawers.

My life is in need of some attention!  I clean up my computer to keep it running smoothly, I attend to the engine of my car so that it will perform when I need it, but do I attend to my own personal tune up, to keep me running efficiently?

"Spring is the time of plans and projects." Leo Tolstoy - Anne Karenina.

Now that I am aware that Spring presents me with this wonderful gift of choice, I can choose to view what is working for me in my life or what is not.  I can look into my life, my cupboards, my files, my clothing, and my relationships and ask:
Do I really need this ..... ?  (Fill in the blanks as appropriate).
Is this ...... working for me?
How can I make this ....... work better?
Am I living my life my way or just reacting to things, people or situations?
Did I consider myself important enough to set goals for myself?
What is important to me and what am I prepared to put my energy into?

"If we had no Winter, the Spring would not be so pleasant: If we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." Anne Bradstreet 1612-72.  Meditations Divine and Moral 1655.

It's comforting to see that things haven't changed so much in the human condition since Anne was writing; I wonder what she would have written on her Spring list?

Personally Spring is:
An inspiration to be aware of all that is good in my life.
A reminder to tidy up areas of my life that need attention.
To get rid of all of the dead wood and debris, clean up my act and cut out all that is slowing down my progress.
Be clear on what I want for me in all areas of my life but above all Spring is the reminder to express gratitude and blessings for being here, to feel, to be alive to all that is in my life and to choose to be alive!

"We were born to be Alive, you see, we're born, born, born, born, to be Alive." Lyrics - Patrick Hernandez.

Make your Spring list and check it twice, make sure that it works for you.

Have a good week.
