“Love is in the air every sight and every sound,
And I don't know if I'm being foolish;
don't know if I'm being wise but it's something that I must believe in........”
Often this song is a personal reminder to stop peddling so furiously. At 16 I knew when going too fast you must pull harder on the brakes.
Have I forgotten a childhood instinct?
Being honest with myself and willing to look at things another way is possibly a good but difficult place to start. An image of the child screen character of Shirley Temple comes to mind. When she fell or was hurt or upset, she picked herself up, checked that she was ok, dusted herself down, had a good cry and got on with doing what needed to be done, this is generally what kids do, and if there is somebody around whom they can ask for help, they ask! Can I learn anything from this?
" I have placed my head and my heart on the sill of the door of my love. Step gently, child!" Turkoman love song
St. Valentine’s Day is on Tuesday. It is a special time to remember all of the people and memories you love and that have shared a place in your heart. Personally, this song touches my heart in a special way as it reawakens the power of love in all of its forms and as I recall that moment in’81 when I knew then as I know now that someone very special loves me and has lovingly created all of it for me- I felt special. At 16 I accepted this love without question.
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;
what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Take time this week to get in touch with people who are special to you, be good to yourself and tell those special people how much they mean to you.
" Your words are necessary to me as the sunlight and air...
Your words are my food,
your breath my wine-you are everything to me."
Sarah Bernhardt
