Monday, Monday so good to Me,
Monday Monday it was all I hoped it would be.
John Phillips
Sung by The Mama's and Papas.
Monday, Monday so good to me ...
These beautiful words of John Phillips, immortalised by 'The Mamas and Papas' are a powerful affirmation to kick-start our weekly column.
If you, like many others have succumbed to the flagging of your New Year's Resolutions - do not despair. It's no big deal - that is unless you make it so.
Give yourself a break and try again. Why? Why not?
Give yourself the permission to do so, therefore, no recriminations, no telling you off etc.
Take the choice to switch your thinking now, right at this moment and say:-
'Monday, Monday is SO good to ME.
According to Shakti Gawain, in the work 'Creative Visualisations, Bantam, London 1985' -
"An affirmation is a strong positive statement that something is already so."
Can you let this be your thought, your mantra, your philosophy, your belief for today?
Can you allow the thought that this day and every day can be created for and is good to You. Nowadays we are encouraged to become aware of the power of our thoughts. At this moment, right in this moment, where ever, whenever you are reading this, can you ponder on this scene?
What is it that you are thinking about right at this moment?
And how are you feeling about the thought?
Is it a positive thought?
e.g. I'm happy taking time out for me, enjoying my cup of coffee and reading etc, or am I enjoying what I am doing right now, or not? Or is it that you are feeling a little tension, maybe you think you should be doing something else, the garden needs attention, the house is untidy, my college homework has to be completed, so much to do etc...
Many life skills programmes, mentors, teachers, managers, life coaches etc are advocating the premise that there are no lucky or unlucky people. You are either a deliberate or a non-deliberate creator. So is it possible that you can think something different, right now in this moment or at any given moment and therefore take responsibility for your thoughts by just becoming aware of them, what a liberating thought this is!
You may argue the contrary but what for one moment if we consider what Joe Vitale offers - "Every thought you have is the result of either Inspiration (Higher Self, Spirit) or from your programming - (beliefs and conditioning)." If you choose the positive route consider the power of Affirmations.
For Affirmations to work use the 3 P's rule : -
I will leave you with these hopefully uplifting thoughts.
You can choose to be happy or not,
you can choose to be aware of your
thoughts or not, the choice is yours.
"Look and you will find it, what is unsought will go undetected" Sophocles.
Make today a good day for you, you deserve this thought.
