As human beings we see things in terms of definites, black and white with some grey areas, yes and no's, positive and negatives. 

In fact everything is based of energy.  This energy vibrates at different levels and with greater and lesser intensity.  We are energy, our human world is energy, all the possessions we own are energy.  We as pure energy cannot exist in this earthly world because here energy is transformed into matter and we need a body to survive and allow us to interact with all this world has to offer.  

What we know as human death is only a transition.  We leave our earthly body consisting of matter and move onward.  

We do not cease to be, we do not stop. We evolve.  

Although those left behind have to deal with the loss of a loved one, it is only in the physical sense.  For the departed loved one still exists but has returned to an energy form.  They are still there for us and just thinking of them brings them close to us.  They interact with our world more often in the early years but as time passes for us here on earth it also passes for them, albeit in a different way.  They continue on their journey and continue learning and growing as spiritual beings, but they will forever be there when we need them.  We are all reunited when we pass on and continue our journey in energy form. 

 
 

The Mystic encourage her to visit the stream each day to find the answer to her question.  
Dutifully she obeyed. 
She stood by the water's edge each morning and spoke her gentle words "What am i to do next?". Each day she waited for an answer, but she never received an answer.

One morning when she reached the river an old man was sitting by the water's edge.  She stood back allowing him a little time in hope he would move on. She waited and waited.  Eventually after an hour or so she approached the old man and asked if he needed assistance or required help.  The old man replied that 'he was just sitting enjoying the beauty of his surroundings and would rest there until afternoon'.  The girl left and returned again in the afternoon.  
She found the old man asleep by the river.  This agitated her as she wished to be alone by the stream to ask her question and wait for her answer. She approached the old man and woke him.
"Why do you linger here, others need to access the river, perhaps it is time for you to move on?"
"If you require water my dear, there are many other areas you can gain access to the river." the old man answered pointing a little further down the river bank. 
"I don't require water." she snapped back at him.
"They why are you here?  What brings you to the water's edge if not for water or to bathe?"
"What I do here is none of your concern." she retorted, turning her back and sitting on a large stone nearby.
The old man continued to speak to her gently.  After a little while she began to weep and told the old man why she visited this spot each day.  
The old man thought for a little while and what he said next surprised her greatly.

"You my dear, visit here each day and wait for a response that will never come.  You are not moving on, your life is dictated by this action each morning, and you go to sleep each night with a great hope that the next day you will find the answer.  You have been doing this for quite some time.  Can you not see what the meaning is?  There is a futility in answering this question, because the answer you receive will never the right one.  You must stop wasting your time and live your life. Each day the choices and decisions you make decide the answer to your question of what you do next.  The river is ever moving, flowing onward and your life must mirror this. The Mystic sent you here to notice the river and how it progresses and for you to realise that whilst watching it and visiting each day you were not doing the same. Go home dear girl and get on with living."

The young girl realised the wisdom in the old man's words and returned home to begin living each day to its fullest.
