Why does the snow linger so?

Sitting today with a nice warm cup of tea and watching it snowing yet again,
 i was guided to open my computer and write the following Poem.  
Hope you enjoy it as it's very apt for the present 
weather we are all experiencing.  Cora x

Why does the snow linger so
blanketed all around?
Holding on its icy grip
slowly melting drip by drip.

Why does the snow linger so
frozen noses all a glow?
Children playing, days off school
running burning off their fuel.

Why does the snow linger so
where spring should now be all aglow?
We shiver and shake as chilled gusts blow
all because of spring time snow.
